House in the countryside _ Lehoťan

A new building in the countryside set in an old garden. The walls are made of ceramic blocks, the ceilings are partly wooden, partly monolithic concrete. Subtle steel columns complement the structure where needed. The outer surfaces admit the material essence. The dominant element is wooden cladding. The north side is massive, closed. Together with the projecting shelter, it fulfills the role of traditional protection against natural elements and views. Robustness and durability are also supported by the selected materials. The house itself is separated from the road by an embankment made of massive stones. Under the roof made of faced concrete is the entrance area, comfortable and protected from the weather. The opposite, southwest side is open, with a view of the countryside. An extensive covered terrace along the entire length of the house creates another residential outdoor space. Glazing with large sliding segments expands the flexibility of connecting the interior with the exterior as well as adjacent spaces. The interior has the character of a complete work. Pure, elementary geometric shapes are sometimes enriched with stylized folklore motifs and intentionally rougher materiality.
