The design of the house responds to the local tradition of the orientation of buildings on the street, where the street is formed by longitudinal houses with windows and large gateways facing the courtyard. This house has thus only two facades – one flat and restrained, facing the street and the other open and expanding to make the most benefit from sunlight and greenery. The house consists of two perpendicular wings, which are in contact with the garden thanks to large windows and terraces. But while in the backyard horizontal composition of solid and glass surfaces prevails, towards the street Šmondrk has chosen French format windows that add a healthy vertical dimension to the front facade. The outer facade consists of reddish decorative brick clinker tiles, which is harmonized with the rough poetry of the corten steel garage gate.
