Palmyra House

This location is perfect as a quiet retreat for a city man with a great passion for hunting. The special project is not extensive, but it offers the necessary comfort. Everything important is included in this discreet single-storey structure erected on the embankment. The interior includes a combined living, cooking and dining area, next to it a bedroom and bathroom in the appropriate dimensions derived from the lifestyle of a man who spends most of his free time hunting. The house includes a covered terrace with panoramic views. Although the simplistic building form is not usual in this provincial region, it is moderate enough not seek local sensation. Like the surrounding wine cellars, this object is also firmly connected to the land. This is underlined by the choice of materials, dominated by rough split slate. A masculine combination of white plaster and Rheinzink facade patterns comes in the second line. Similarly, the interior also has a distinctive nature that apart from afore mentioned slate is made of facing panels of walnut. Photo: Paťo Safko
