Residence Záhorská

Záhorská Bystrica long resisted the efforts to ''urbanize'' its traditional village atmosphere. The town, now part of Bratislava, at first did not show enthusiasm when a developer revealed its intention to build a new residential complex along the main road, accompanied by a long chain of older houses. The project therefore carefully considered the basic style of living that would be acceptable to the area. Instead of mono-blocks or prominent tall buildings, several smaller structures with a friendly "3 + 1" layout were proposed. There are now seven blocks, together providing housing for nearly 300 so-called “starting” and therefore smaller flats of different sizes. Areas between blocks are filled with green playground areas. The ground floors, occupied by retail space, create a business street where you can comfortably park your car, go to restaurants or shop. The natural, warm materials of the facades are an attempt to keep with the ideal style of living which follows not only its own architectural goals, but also takes into consideration its users.
