Vila BMS

This villa stands at the foot of the valley surrounding the exceptionally beautiful historic city center. It uses every opportunity to take advantage of this rare scenic potential. From the terraced arrangement of materials on the steep slopes to the large, precisely cut rectangular glass areas - every point of contact with the environment is composed to highlight the experience of the clear views of the castle, town and countryside along with a meander of the Vltava. Rostislav Švácha, in the book Famous Villas of South Bohemia, writes that he even found some signs in the building of "neo-plastic" inspiration that Šmondrk transferred into contemporary neo-functionalism and minimalism. However, the implementation process later involved other subjects, and the material and color solutions especially show deviations from the original project. The villa's office space serves as a travel agency which includes offices along with a separated apartment above it.
